Looks can be deceiving. For instance, if you’re not familiar with Donna Savage and were to peruse the gallery below, you may think to yourself, “Damn! Those are some scary lookin dudes! What kind of death metal show is this??” But in reality, what you’re seeing is but a sliver of the Donna Savage experience. While they do don disguises for all of their shows, you may see skulls in one venue, and masquerade masks in another – that’s part of the fun, you never quite know who you’re going to get.

If you were lucky enough to attend their set at the Eastern Wharf yesterday, you were treated to an evening of meandering dad-jokes, comically inane observations, and most importantly, highly entertaining surf-punk rock n roll. We may never know who these masked men are, but they put on a helluva a show. Whether it was them asking us to “turn off the wind machine” (it was a very gusty day at the Wharf), or reminding us that they only had “62 songs left to play”, they had the whole crowd laughing and rocking all evening long.

If that sounds like a good time to you, be sure to check out the Concert Calendar to see when Donna Savage is set to take the stage again! In the meantime, here are a few shots from the show yesterday courtesy of Josh Garwood.
